Enter the enchanting world of the Highland city tourism film at Inverness Film Festival…
Inverness Film Festival, Eden Court, Bishops Road, Inverness IV3 5SA // Box Office: 01463 234234
Inverness: gateway to the Highlands and source of many a historical myth or two. It’s a city where tourism and travel could be commonly perceived as the main industry from this selection of films. Important though it still is, new sectors such as education, health and renewable energy are now shaping Scotland’s sixth city. So how has the vision of a Highland city changed for those who live in its urban communities today?
Made in My Toun is a screening of rare films from the archives telling the story of urban growth across Scotland, followed by a panel discussion – or ‘blether’ – about re-presenting our towns and cities on the big screen. On tour from Ayr to Aberdeen, Made in My Toun is part of the BFI Britain on Film project: making thousands of newly digitised film and TV titles from archives across the UK available to view online. Join curator Shona Thomson in celebrating the ‘touns’ that have changed the face of Scotland. Event duration: 90 mins approx.
